Strategy for getting started and for growing a business are similar. To start with, watch or listen to a strategy session on what to do first and what to do to continue.
The First Strategy Session occurs within a day or so of deciding to make Melaleuca a business.
Below is an example of a Strategy Session for starting your business.
1. Have a strong WHY ( Money equals? How much to do that?)
You need gas in your car. Pushing a couple of blocks is doable, but to drive for a long distance, you must have more gasoline. Manage your emotions.
When you reach one goal, there must be another to replace it, that's another WHY.
2. Make time
You can work a business full-time (40 Approaches / Week) or part-time (20 Approaches / Week). Plan your work schedule. Working a business in your spare time does not usually make for a successful business.
Learn script for contact list.
Treat it like a real job! You are the boss and the #1 employee.
Would you hire you next week based on this week’s performance?
3. Be Coachable
We work as a team, so do not reinvent the “wheel”.
· Attend Team Calls & Trainings, Weekly Overviews, and Leadership trainings.
· Join Facebook and use Team Calendar for the monthly events.
· Convert your home to Melaleuca Products and/or use all 5 lines of products as you run out of items.
Follow Up with Customers.
· Send the list of names of people you approached to your coach daily if you are working directly with a mentor. Different mentors may do things differently.
4. Make a Contact List
Start with Warm Market. This is everyone you know, not just people you want to call. After you make the list you can decide who you are going to call first.
Who can I help? Write down Name and how you can help them.
Cold Market are people you do not know, YET. Build relationships with new people, your cold market. Start with in-person, but also connect with people online.
Meet new people in person by attending networking events, Chambers of Commerce, Meetups, and community events. You also can meet new people at places you already go, like church, the gym, clubs, etc.
This might be considered the "Old School Way", but Attraction Marketing can also be in person. Remember, however, we simply are available for people we can help.
5. Make a Plan
This month – 10 shoppers and Director or Director II (Director This Month)
Senior Director – 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years
The most important part is stick with it altering it as you go along, but NEVER quitting.
When you reach 20 customers, your income increases. Always have a minimum of 20 customers and get there as quickly as possible.
